sony master series A9g oled

say hello to one of the smartest TV's in the market

an honest review

This TV right here is ranked the best of the year 2019 and a TV that finally KNOCKED LG off of its perch. LG was the champion for the last four years. I personally rank this TV as the best here at HeadQuarterTv. Here we are about to find out why Sony A9G Master is one of the bests.(€1,899.99 for a 55 Inch in Amazon) higher inches is also available. Design:

We will start with the design. Just by looking at it you will know how precious it is. The bezels are very thin, the TV panel itself is very thin. Its got great cable management at the back. A small footprint for the stand which I think its big deal for a lot of people and it sits right down on the stand itself so it looks like its just floating on the media stand. If you wall mount it it will look fantastic as well as you can see in the picture of the background.

Speakers:

The screen is the speaker so its got a couple of actuators and the screen makes the sound. Also if you have an elaborate home theater system with an AV receiver and anything else, you can use the TV as the center channel. There are little speaker inputs at the back so you just run your speak wires to it and there is no need to have a separate speaker, it will function very well as the center channel. If you don’t want to have a full on theater system its also fine because this TV is well functioned on its own too.

Ports:

The ports and connectors on the A9G are divided between two separate panels on the back of the set. The most accessible, a left-facing input panel, offers a single HDMI port, two USB ports, a 3.5mm jack for headphones, a similar 3.5 mm jack for composite video and pin connectors for wiring up a center speaker.

The second input panel is set farther in on the back panel, and recessed, with downward-facing ports. There, you’ll find three additional HDMI ports, including one HDM eARC connection for sound bars, as well as a third USB port, an optical digital-audio connection, an RF connector for antenna and an Ethernet port.

Input Lag:

There is no lag in the main menu and its one of the best performance android TV yet so far. Sony has been very judicious about where it wants to put its peak brightness and highlights and how it wants to handle low luminance levels in the black areas. Like all other old LEDs it struggles a little in that area but they manage to map everything so everything you watch is literally magical.

Color Accuracy:

The A9G offers excellent color reproduction, with a color gamut of 127.7% of the Rec. 709 color space. That’s really surprising. High-dynamic-range content also gets some love, with support for most major HDR formats, including HDR10, hybrid-log gamma (HLG) and Dolby Vision. This set also supports the IMax Enhanced format, a Sony exclusive format that has its own standards for color, contrast and picture clarity.

Reflections:

So what you are getting here is absolutely amazing black levels, perfectly suitable brightness. I wouldn’t be worried at all putting this TV in a bright room. Colors are Amazing. Are there any downside??

Downsides:

Well yes; as an OLED its susceptible to burn under extreme circumstances so if for example you watch the same tv channel every single day all day for months and months and months on end, ultimately you could see a little bit of image retention or screen burn-in happen. The Sony TV does have some stuff that helps try to abate that but at the end of the day if you abuse the TV with hardcore viewing like that u might get a little bit of burn in and this TV might not be for you in that case.

But for pretty much everybody else if you are looking for the best picture quality that you can find the Sony A9G is offering it now.

Is it the best TV I’ve ever seen? Well there is the 8K OLED from LG that is really fantastic but I am comfortable calling this the best 4K TV I’ve seen so far and it gets me excited where TV technology is going future.

Anything which can make this TV better? I would say if it was more in use of gamers, then it would just be no words to describe it. It doesn’t have the HDMI 2.1 speck. It does the EARC so you get the uncompressed dolby atmos and with newer EARC audio equipment you wont have any latency with like a sound bar or anything like that but the refresh rates aren’t great but still compatible that’s why it wouldn’t be recommended for gaming as there are better options in the market in that case.

Are they expensive TVs?? Absolutely but the picture quality you get for the price I think is magnificent.
