Design:

The design is pretty nice and simple as you can tell and nothing too crazy about it. It looks quite similar to 2018 NU7100. The logo is in the bottom middle of the screen and just under it there is your navigation buttons which is only 1 button but it’s enough to do basic things with it like turning off and on the TV and changing inputs.

For pictures of the design check out the page:

The boarders are pretty thin so the TV will look good in your eyes.

The stand is quite wide from each other but it supports the TV well and keeps it steady with a really smooth looking design.

Picture Quality:

This TV has a high native contrast ratio of around 6100 to 1 (6100:1). The Samsung Q60R QLED is a good 4k TV for nearly every type of content. It’s VA panel has an outstanding contrast ratio as we said earlier, producing deep, inky blacks, and it has excellent motion handling, resulting in crisp images with minimal blur. Unfortunately this TV doesn’t support local dimming. Local dimming is a technique that improves the black levels of your television. The dark parts of the screen become extra dark with this technique.

Connections and Ports:

The Q60R features four HDMI 2.0 ports, one of which supports the audio return channel (ARC), as well as two USB ports, coaxial (TV/cable/satellite), ethernet, optical digital out, and an RS-232C port. There’s also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on board.

Input lag:

The Q60R like most of other Samsung TVs performs really well and has a very low input lag. This TV also support auto low latency mode and if you are wondering what that is, we will tell you right now. Auto low latency is a mode that will automatically change to provide a low input lag when sent a signal from a new PlayStation or Xbox. So overall,  It has low input lag and supports FreeSync variable refresh rate.

Smart Features:

Like other Samsung TVs, Q60R also has the Tizen smart platform. It feels just a bit smoother than other previous models and it’s great and easy to use.

Response time:

A fast response time is always important as it helps reduce the motion blur. This TVs response time is 3.5 millisecond on 80% and 10.2 on 100% response time which is better than some of it’s competitions like LG SK8000, Sony X950G.

Peak Brightness:

If you are in a bright room and there are quite a lot of reflections, sometimes the peak brightness of your TV can really be annoying at a point that you can’t even see what is being showed on the display. Don’t worry anymore with Q60R because if it’s performance in test results and having a full screen brightness of 370 nits. This doesn’t mean that the display will be too bright absolutely not. This will give you the ability to turn on the backlight to increase the brightness in a bright room.

Reflection and Viewing Angles:

We all know that good viewing angle is really important on a TV and a decent viewing angle is when you can still watch the screen and the display isn’t losing brightness and picture quality. Like some other of VA panel TVs, the Q60R has a bit of washout and color shift as well as raised blacks and losing brightness while watching from more than 67% which is again quite normal for TVs with VA panel.

As we talked above about your room being brigth, you want your screen to be shown perfeclty and there are 2 factors. First one was peak brightneess and second one is reflections. Yu want your TV to handle the reflections for you with a perfect anti-reflective finish. Samsung Q60R has a Semi-Gloss screen finish which actually does help the reflection but it isn’t the best in the market.

Color Accuracy:

The Q60R has a good wide color gamut so it can produce more accurate colors than you will find it SDR. The DCI P3 is about 86% to 91%. This is quite similar to Sony X950G which also performs well but they are both not the best and you can be expecting that because of their price range.
